About us

Six years of SEO, spent on local businesses

RankLocal is run by Vishvam Mangroliya. We are a small team working from India for local businesses that mostly are not, and the whole job is getting the phone to ring.

Our story

I have done this job from three different chairs

In-house, freelance, and inside an agency. Each one teaches you something the other two cannot, and one of them teaches you what to never do.

In-house

One website, and years to sit with it. This is the seat where you find out whether any of it worked, because you are still there six months later when the phone either rang more or it did not.

Freelance

Twenty websites and nobody to ask. You get fast because you have to, and you find out which of the things you were taught are load-bearing and which were only habit.

Agency

The least comfortable lesson. The person who sells the work is often not the person who does it, and most of what goes wrong for a local business buying SEO starts at that gap.

Why only local SEO now

RankLocal exists to close that last gap. You talk to the people doing the work. It is a small team on purpose: someone on strategy, someone on the build, someone on reviews and writing, small enough that your account cannot quietly become somebody’s side task.

Working from India, for businesses that are not

A transfers and tours operator in Fiji, a car rental firm competing with national chains in Brisbane, a furniture retailer in Ahmedabad holding its own in a city with no IKEA. The work travels well because it is the same everywhere. Knowing the place does not, so we ask a great deal about yours instead of assuming.

Where we are a poor fit, up front. If you need results inside a month, this is the wrong channel. Profile work can move in two to six weeks, but competitive service-and-suburb rankings take three to six months and settle over nine to twelve. If that is too slow for what you need right now, paid ads are the honest answer and we will tell you so.

Case studies

The clients we have worked with

Three engagements are published in full. They are the three whose clients sent us their own Google data, which is the only kind we will put a number on.

Beyond these, the work runs across the trades where a local search turns into a phone call: dentists, plumbers, electricians, law firms, therapists, restaurants, med spas and real estate. Each has its own page on what changes by industry, because what a customer is worth and which searches convert are not the same in any two of them.

How we work

Who does what, from the audit onwards

Every agency site answers what we do, and they all answer it identically. The useful question is who does it, when, and what is needed from you.

Four stages, and who is doing what in each

  1. Before you pay anything

    The audit

    Strategist

Works out which searches you could realistically win, and who holds them now

    Specialist

Checks whether Google can reach and read your site at all

    Reputation & content

Reads your reviews and what people already say about you

    You

Half an hour on the phone, and honest answers about what you actually do

  2. Weeks 1 to 4

    Fix what is broken

    Strategist

Turns the audit into an order of work, cheapest wins first

    Specialist

Claims and completes your Google listing, corrects your details everywhere

    Reputation & content

Sets up review requests so they arrive as a habit, not a push

    You

Approve the plan. Say no to anything that does not sound like your business

  3. Month 2

    Build the pages

    Strategist

Decides which pages exist, and which suburbs are real rather than aspirational

    Specialist

Builds them, links them together, keeps everything within two clicks of home

    Reputation & content

Writes them from an hour of interviewing you, not from your competitors

    You

That hour. It is the part nobody else can supply and the part that cannot be copied

  4. Month 3 onward

    Keep going

    Strategist

Watches positions and moves the target when the data says to

    Specialist

Earns links from organisations genuinely connected to your trade and area

    Reputation & content

Answers the questions you get asked on the phone, responds to every review

    You

Ask for the review at the end of the job. Tell us which calls turned into work

The right-hand column is short on purpose. If a local SEO engagement needs more than that from you, something has been sold to you that should have been done for you.

The stages are the shape of a standard engagement, not a guarantee. The first three columns are our side. The fourth is yours.

The audit comes before the invoice

It can end with us telling you that your constraint is not SEO at all. Saying that costs us less than taking money for work that was never going to move.

The order cannot be reshuffled

Pages built on a site Google cannot read do nothing. Links pointed at pages that do not exist yet are wasted. Each stage opens because the one before it cleared the thing that would have thrown the money away.

Start with the audit

We look at your Business Profile, your details across the web, and what you already rank for, then tell you the two or three things worth fixing first, in order, with reasons. You get the findings whether or not you go any further. If you would rather ask something first, the contact page has every way to reach us.
